Barbara heads Carbon Tracker’s work on increasing stakeholder awareness of the need to improve climate and energy-transition -related disclosures in financial reporting. She is the leading author of Carbon Tracker’s “Flying Blind” series and oversees the team’s work on providing accounting and auditing data to the Climate Action 100+ initiative as well as analysing financial statements for investor engagement and voting decisions. Her work also involves educating stakeholders on the results of these analyses, investors on relevant accounting and auditing requirements, and auditors and regulators on investors’ information needs about climate-related risks in financial reporting. Barbara speaks regularly on accounting, audit and climate-related issues.

Barbara has over 25 years’ capital market experience. Prior to joining Carbon Tracker in 2020, she worked with the Climate Accounting Project as an independent consultant. Barbara formerly headed the investor engagement team at the International Accounting Standards Board, where she founded and implemented their Investors in Financial Reporting programme and secured significant relationships in the global investment community. She has experience in accounting policy, transaction advisory and audit roles from working at international investment banks and accounting firms. Barbara is a US Certified Public Accountant. She also holds an MSc in Environmental Policy and Regulation from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
