Dr. Frank D’Agnese is an innovator and creator of cutting-edge technology to empower cross-functional agility in organizations. Recently, he led Earth Knowledge in creating a Digital Twin of the Earth along with the development of the 300+ global change and sustainability key indicators framework.

Frank’s innovative vision of the Earth Knowledge Platform, which he began architecting in the late 1990s, foreshadowed foundational cloud computing components that Microsoft, IBM and Google later built. His work involving first-to-market design and implementation of the Earth Knowledge Portal with Google provided a massive information hub of live-steaming natural, social and economic information. Frank’s work has informed important decisions by The White House; numerous federal, state and municipal government agencies; and industry leaders worldwide. Before co-founding Earth Knowledge, Frank was a senior level manager at the US Geological Survey, creating and directing multi-million-dollar technical programs of national and international significance, all of which involved earth system science, big data, geographic information integration and enterprise collaboration. His leadership in these areas has resulted in over 100 publications and presentations, including recent reports co-authoring with WWF, The World Bank, Microsoft and Ernst & Young.

Frank holds a BS (summa cum laude), ME and PhD in Geological Engineering, Environmental Science, Earth Systems Modeling, and Information Management from the Colorado School of Mines.
