Chris is FMSB’s General Counsel and Head of Standards and has overall responsibility for all FMSB Working Groups and their publications. This includes work across market practices, electronic trading, conduct and ethics, post trade processes and ESG. In ESG, Chris led, along with the group chair Caroline Haas, FMSB’s work aimed at facilitating additional transparency of ESG ratings methodologies as well as enhancing user understanding of ESG ratings. Chris has been a speaker at IOSCO roundtables on the topic of ESG ratings and is a member of the FCA-mandated ESG Data and Ratings Working Group. Prior to joining FMSB Chris spent nine years at Linklaters advising a wide range of investment banks, market infrastructure providers and buy-side institutions on numerous areas of UK and European financial regulation. Chris holds first class degrees from Bristol University and London School of Economics.
