In her role as Global Head of Sustainable Solutions, Kristina Church brings specialized expertise and support to enable BNY Mellon’s business lines to capture commercial ESG and sustainability solutions and opportunities. Working with the Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) and commercial leaders, Kristina helps identify and drive development of products and solutions that meet BNYM’s clients grow their sustainable finance needs, as they navigate the environmental and social transitions to a low-carbon, circular and more inclusive economy. She is chair of the Responsible Investment Committee and deputy chair of the bank’s ESG Advisory Council. Kristina joined BNYM in 2021 as Global Head of Responsible Strategy for BNY Mellon Investment Management. She was responsible for developing and leading the execution of BNYM IM’s Responsible Investment (RI) Program, leveraging the combined expertise of 7 specialist investment firms, each with their unique approach to RI and managing $1.8 trillion in combined assets.

Previously, Kristina was Head of Sustainable Solutions, and Senior Investment Strategist, at Lombard Odier Investment Managers. Her research has spanned topics including climate change, decarbonisation of hard-to-abate industries, biodiversity and natural capital, the circular economy, sustainable mobility, infrastructure, sustainable finance regulation and stewardship. In her prior role she sat on the Global Responsible Investment Committee of AIMA and she is currently an advisor to a mobility VC, Maniv Mobility. She is also a member of the finance & audit committee of Future Academies and Governor of a local school. With a keen focus on promoting diversity and inclusion, she enjoys acting as a mentor to future leaders within the organisations she has worked and has previously spent time supporting children in underprivileged areas with careers coaching.

Kristina spent a decade at Barclays Capital, latterly leading the global industrial team’s sustainable and thematic research and formerly as Head of European Automotive equity research. She focused on long-term strategic challenges and how to prepare the mobility sector to face disruption from carbon regulation and sustainability trends and developed a specialization in micromobility, electric mobility and smart city adaptation. She began her career as a chartered accountant and private equity specialist at Deloitte and later an automotive equity analyst at Citigroup.

Kristina has an MA in Classical Languages and Literature from Oxford University, UK.
