Vesselina (Vessy) Haralampieva is Head, Sustainable Finance Governance and Regulation at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London, U.K. She leads the energy and climate change policy work of the EBRD’s legal department. With more than 15 years of experience, Vessy advises on matters relating to energy and climate change law and policy, sustainable finance, governance and regulation. She has led policy and legal reform initiatives in Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and North Africa and client engagements on sustainability reporting, climate governance and transition planning. Vesselina oversees the Bank’s Corporate Climate Governance Facility, which is central to the delivery of the EBRD’s Paris alignment approach.

Vessy is a member of the Working Group on Climate Change to the Law Society of England and Wales, which produced the milestone climate change guidance for solicitors. She is also a member of the Network for Greening the Financial System’s working group on climate litigation and is the EBRD representative at the Governing Board of the Climate Governance Initiative. Vessy holds law degrees from Harvard Law School and Sofia University.
