Steven Friel is a lawyer, and the CEO of Woodsford, a collective redress business. Steven focuses on situations where multiple parties, often shareholders or consumers, suffer financial loss following breakdowns in ESG, in particular corporate governance, at major companies. Repeatedly recognised as a leader in ESG, law and finance by Chambers & Partners and Legal 500, Steven is a graduate of Cambridge University and graduated first in his class with a Master’s degree in International Dispute Resolution from the University of London. He authors the leading treatise on the Law and Business of Litigation Finance, and frequently writes and speaks on the subject of climate litigation. He is a Member of the Global Stewardship Committee of the International Corporate Governance Network, and an Advisory Board Member on Sustainable Governance and Law at University College London.
