Kate McKenzie is Deputy Director of the Climate Change Litigation Initiative (C2LI) having contributed to its development alongside its Founders and Co-Directors since its inception. As a licensed attorney in the USA, she has extensive experience in Alternative Dispute Resolution and over 15 years of practical experience as a lawyer-mediator, specialising in multi-organisation partnerships and high-conflict dispute resolution with a focus on social justice. She also acts as a climate diplomat for the Institute for Climate Protection, Energy and Mobility (IKEM) in Berlin with a focus on climate change-related disputes and climate governance. She holds a PhD in Climate Law and an LLM in Global Environmental Law and Governance from the University of Strathclyde, a Juris Doctor with a concentration in Environmental Law from Capital University Law School, and a Bachelor of Music in Classical Voice Performance from The Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
