Formerly a computer designer, for over 30 years Ashley has worked in some of the largest law firms in the world specialising on the interface between technology and the law. Ashley advises on financial regulatory, encryption, data protection and cyber security matters with particular emphasis on Artificial Intelligence, e-money, payment systems, and highly regulated platforms. He has provided regulatory and commercial advice to a number of the large well known social media platforms, many banks and financial services companies, card networks, SaaS and other technology companies, large crypto networks and charities. He has advised on some of the largest cyber incidents in the UK. Ashley is a Ponemon Institute Fellow and for many years has been the Chairman of the Data Protection Forum, the longest running data protection group in the UK.
