Ayca Ariyoruk is a global public policy strategist and a cross-cultural ethics advisor in artificial intelligence. She is a senior fellow at the Washington-based Center for AI and Digital Policy (CAIDP) and a contributor to the AI and Democratic Values Index, which evaluates 80+ countries’ national AI strategies against democratic values. She advises governments, international organizations, and start-ups on navigating AI risks and opportunities by tracking industry trends and innovations against emerging policy frameworks and regulatory environments. Her research spans AI fairness, safety, security, existing and future risks, and implications for human rights, the future of work, armed conflict, and political movements.
She has been a steadfast advocate for trustworthy, human-centered technologies that bridge innovation, science, and human rights. For nearly a decade at Soliya, a tech-ed initiative funded by the U.S. State Department and the European Commission, she strengthened the organization’s market position and fostered cross-cultural dialogue through the EU’s Neighborhood Policy and U.S. engagement with the Middle East. Previously, she monitored UN Security Council developments and contributed to negotiations that led to key reforms.
