Dr Lisa Cameron is the Scottish National Party MP for East Kilbride, Strathaven and Lesmahagow. Lisa is also the Chair of the newly created Crypto and Digital Assets All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) in Westminster and also chairs the Foreign Affairs APPG in Parliament.
Before entering politics, Lisa worked as a clinical psychologist and received a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Glasgow.
Lisa has a keen interest in crypto and digital assets. She is particularly interested in the potential for this new technology to transform the landscape of emerging digital payments and financial services. Lisa has said that a top priority for her is consumer protection and she wants to see the sector and regulators making protecting consumers from the risks of harm a key focus. She is also interested in the opportunities that exist from the crypto and digital asset sector in terms of jobs, benefits to the economy and skills.
Lisa is also passionate about the importance of educating people and improving people’s understanding about crypto and digital assets.
