Emma is the Founder and CEO of NovaFin Consulting Ltd, a boutique advisory firm focused on all aspects of conduct risk and culture.
Since founding NovaFin, Emma has been instructed as an expert witness on a UK High Court case involving regulatory breaches in the opt up of a Retail client to Elective Professional in Contracts for Difference. In addition, she’s advised on fraud and culture taskforces for industry organisations (ACAMS, ACCA); worked with RegTechs that specialise in eComms and trade surveillance solutions; and developed and executed 2nd Line conduct risk assessments (market abuse, market integrity, treating customers fairly) for a Nordic wholesale bank. Emma has also worked in partnership with Plenitude Consulting on conduct risk and market abuse initiatives. She is also the writer and creator of “The Conduct Chronicles” a series of monthly articles published in partnership with Global Relay.
Emma is an independent non-executive director and Chair at a UK FinTech, and an advisor to the Global ESG Leadership Organization, an NGO that is a signatory to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment
Prior to founding NovaFin, Emma held various senior executive roles in HSBC’s Global Banking and Markets division. In her final years at HSBC, Emma served as Global Head of Product Governance and Conduct in a role spanning Global Banking and Markets. In that role, she established and Chaired the Global Product Governance Committee, and Best Execution Committee.
Emma commenced her career in programme management with roles at Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase and Deloitte.
