Chris is a financial services regulatory lawyer who acts primarily on FCA and PRA Enforcement actions. Chris focuses on wholesale enforcement and compliance matters, and in particular issues relating to the Market Abuse Regulation. He has written and annually updates two Thomson Reuters’ publications on market abuse and has contributed to the leading market abuse textbook in the UK.

Chris has acted on a number of complex and high profile contentious FSR matters, including investigations into market abuse, operational resilience and systems and controls issues and for listed companies and subsidiaries in listed groups in relation to allegations of breaches of MAR and the Listing Rules, particularly breaches involving allegations that the market has been misled by statements or omissions. These investigations have included "dual track" investigations, which allege criminal and civil breaches concurrently.

He has experience of regulatory investigations involving the FCA, PRA, Payment Systems Regulator, and other EU and US regulators. Chris is dual-qualified in England & Wales and New York and worked for two years in our New York office.
