Dr Kion Ahadi joined The Law Society in May 2019 in the newly created role of Director of Strategy, Futures and Insight. He led the development of the Law Society’s new corporate strategy (2022-2025) and the publication of Future Worlds 2050. This research brought together experts across a range of disciplines to share their knowledge on future trends. A key trend was understanding the challenges and opportunities technology, artificial intelligence, and innovation present for the legal profession over the next 30 years. Before joining The Law Society, Kion worked in senior positions leading data, insight, research and evaluation teams within The National Lottery Heritage Fund, as well as ScreenSkills, the industry-led skills charity for the creative industries. He has also worked for Nesta, an Innovation foundation, which brings bold ideas to life to change the world for the better. At Nesta, he led a £70m investment fund, which backed innovative projects across the National Health Service. Kion has an exemplary academic record: PhD in Sociology focused on investigating the evolution of human consciousness, MSc International Business (Distinction), and a 1st class honours degree in Business Economics. He has also authored a science fiction novel “Exit Darkness, Enter Light”.
