Joseph Twigg is Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Aveni, AI specialists in assurance and productivity solutions for financial services. With over 15 years’ industry experience, including senior leadership roles at Aberdeen Standard Investments where he served as Global Head of Strategy and Business Management, Joseph brings deep domain expertise to the application of responsible, domain-specific AI in regulated environments. Since founding Aveni in 2018, he has led the development of pioneering solutions such as FinLLM, the UK’s first small language model built specifically for financial services, and its transition into autonomous agent assurance solutions. Joseph holds postgraduate qualifications from Stanford University, an Executive MBA from the University of Edinburgh, and a BSc in Biotechnology & Applied Genetics.
