Giulia Carbone is a Director at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. She leads the Natural Climate Solutions Alliance, the Forest Investor Club and the Forest Finance Risk Consortium. These initiatives aim at connecting Nature with Climate and at mobilizing more finance for Natural Climate Solutions.
Giulia previously served as the Deputy Director of the Global Business and Biodiversity Programme at the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) for 15 years leading projects in the renewable energy, tourism, sport, agri-food, apparel, mining, infrastructure, and oil and gas sectors. Previously she spent almost a decade at the UN Environment Programme, where she led the sustainable tourism programme.
Giulia has a Master of Science degree from the London School of Economics in marine policy (1993), a Master’s in environmental engineering from the Turin Polytechnic (1991), a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of California (1990) and a Laurea in geography from the Università di Genova (1997).
