Munib helps firms navigate complex regulatory compliance challenges. With over 25 years of experience in financial services regulation, he leads the Regulatory Compliance practice at AlixPartners UK, supporting firms across risk management, compliance, governance and regulatory interactions.

Munib has vast experience of guiding capital markets and crypto-asset firms - and their senior management – through intense regulatory scrutiny, particularly in areas such as market abuse frameworks and surveillance. He brings a unique blend of regulatory, industry and consulting experience, having worked as a Chief Compliance Officer, senior advisor at global consultancy firms, and a former regulator.

Previously, Munib held the role of Chief Compliance Officer for Santander’s Global Banking & Markets and Corporate businesses, where he led critical compliance initiatives, including:

- Compliance function transformation
- Conduct framework development, including market conduct surveillance
- Regulatory remediations (FX, LIBOR, IRHP)
- Implementation of major regulations (MiFID II, MAR, SMCR, Best Execution, Dodd-Frank, and EMIR)

Munib has also held senior roles at IBM Promontory, PwC and EY, and previously worked at Barclays and the Financial Services Authority (FSA).
