Martin Gettings is Head of ESG and a Vice President in Brookfield’s Real Estate Group. In this role he provides accountability and oversight to ensure the strategic and operational Environmental, Social and Governance performance of Brookfield’s real estate portfolio companies and their built assets across Europe.
Prior to joining Brookfield in 2021, Mr. Gettings served as Director of Sustainability Canary Wharf Group, one of Brookfield’s portfolio companies. In this role he was responsible for delivery of the Group’s net zero carbon pathway and green bond framework. Prior to this, Mr Gettings was U.K. Sustainability Manager at Balfour Beatty Group.
A Chartered Environmentalist and Fellow of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment, with over 35 years’ experience in construction and property, Mr Gettings currently serves as Board Member of the built environment Supply Chain Sustainability School, as Chair of their Climate Action Group, and is also Chair of the Constructors’ Livery Company Climate Action Committee, which was established in 2021 to support delivery of the City of London Climate Action Strategy.
