Currently Chair of Ports of Jersey, owner and operator of the Airport and Port of Jersey, Chair of the Nazareth Trust, a Scottish Charity that owns and operates the privately owned District General Hospital of Nazareth in Israel, and part time Ministerial Adviser to HMT on financing infrastructure projects.

An Investment Banker for over 30 years with Deutsche Bank, HSBC and Lloyds Bank, specialising in Utilities, Energy and Infrastructure industries as both a financial adviser to boards and as an arranger and provider of funds for major corporates and projects.

Adviser to the UK Government, with three terms of 8 years in total working for HM Treasury, including as day to day adviser (SPAD) to the Chancellor of the Exchequer on financial stability during the credit crisis of 2008-10, CEO of Infrastructure UK from 2011-15, an integrated part of HMT, with responsibility for HMT’s Infrastructure Policy including the National Infrastructure Plan, delivery of major projects such as Thames Tideway, HS2 and Hinkley Point C, a £40bn Guarantee Scheme for private sector infrastructure projects, PPP policy and equity investments and advice to HMT on other commercial and financial matters and creation of the Infrastructure Commission.
