Neha is a macro economist with over 7 years investment banking experience in Barclays and Deutsche Bank, covering country, sovereign and financial institution risk. She’s completed CFA level 1 and 2 and achieved a distinction in the Sustainable Leadership Program from the Cambridge Institute of Sustainable Leadership. She has been in Defra since 2016, working on integrating nature into mainstream financial risk architecture. She is currently UK government lead on the Taskforce on Nature related Financial Disclosures. Areas of focus have included shaping the 25 Year Environment Plan’s Funding and Financing workstream, representing Defra in the Nature workstream of the Transition Plan Taskforce, sitting on the Advisory Board of the GFI-led UK report on Assessing the Materiality of Nature related Financial Risks, steering UK government funding for the TNFD and supervising the ongoing work on establishing sectoral Nature Positive Pathways to inform and influence Nature Transition Plans, as part of broader Transition Plan reporting.
