David Vaillant, Global Head of Finance, Strategy and Participations & Executive Committee member at BNP Paribas Asset Management since 2019.

Prior to joining BNPP AM, David was Head of Banking (FIC) for EMEA in BNP Paribas' Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB). He advised the Group on several transactions, including the acquisition of Fortis, and contributed significantly to the development of BNP Paribas' franchise in Europe and emerging markets. David started his career as a lawyer at Skadden, where he advised various French and international companies on their development strategy, in the financial and industrial sectors. He then joined the Banque de France, where he participated in the analysis of major operations in the financial sector.

David is a graduate of HEC, Sciences Po and EHESS/École Normale Supérieure (Economic Analysis and Policies). He also holds a Master's degree in Audiovisual Communication Law from Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne and a Master's degree in Business Law from Paris II Panthéon-Assas. He is a member of the Paris Bar, and has also studied at Harvard and Cambridge.

He has taught international macroeconomics and law at Sciences Po and HEC; Today, he teaches sustainable finance at HEC. At the same time, he has developed several non-profit projects in the fields of education, environment, and biodiversity, and co-directed the HEC Alumni White Paper "Biodiversity: a call for decisive action". David is a Young Leader of the French American Foundation and a Future Leader of the IFF.

David is a member of the IAPB (International Advisory Panel on Biodiversity Credits).
