Alex leads ICAEW’s Audit and Assurance Faculty, which produces policy papers and thought leadership on issues affecting the profession, and practical guidance for members and the wider profession, including technical releases, guides, webinars and other events. Sustainability assurance occupies an ever-increasing proportion of his time, including recently, managing consultation responses on ISSA 5000 (international and UK versions) and on a UK sustainability assurance regime. Alex led on developing assurance modules for ICAEW’s Sustainability Accelerator programme, and is on ICAEW’s steering group for sustainability assurance learning for members. Alex is a member of the Global Accounting Alliance’s (GAA) Audit & Assurance working group and has also presented at the GAA’s Sustainability working group. Alex also sits on the Centre for Public Interest Audit’s (CPIA) Technical Advisory Panel, and the International Federation of Accountants’ (IFAC) International Standards Community of Practice. Before ICAEW, Alex was in practice at Deloitte and Sayer Vincent.
