Ravi Abeywardana is Director of Sustainability Reporting and Assurance at ICAEW, where he leads initiatives to strengthen capabilities in sustainability disclosures and assurance for ICAEW members and the wider profession. He brings nearly 20 years of experience across public interest and private sectors, with expertise in corporate sustainability, sustainability reporting and assurance, and sustainable finance.

Previously, Ravi served as Technical Director and later Director of Strategic Affairs at the IFRS Foundation’s International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), where he was a key architect of the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards. His career also includes senior roles at Olam International, focusing on finance and corporate sustainability.

A Chartered Accountant with ICAEW and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
