Speaker Bio
Nick Pedersen is Co-Founder and CEO of Project Atlas, a venture building the UK’s first AI-native bank.
Project Atlas is on a mission to make banking instant and hyper-personal – customers should not have to wait days or weeks for generic, off-the-shelf products. Delivering that requires re-wiring a bank from the inside out using frontier AI technology. Our flagship proprietary AI system Aurora enables a fully autonomous AI-driven balance sheet, and we are in the processing of acquiring a sub-scale licenced bank entity to deploy our models.
Prior to founding Project Atlas, Nick spent eight years at NatWest as a Managing Director and Global Head of Digital in the investment bank, where he built and led a £500m+ revenue business across the asset classes of FX, rates, credit and international payments. He co-led the bank’s international payments strategy, chaired its innovation function, and deployed AI-enabled products across the investment bank.
Earlier, Nick held FX sales and trading roles at Citigroup and was Managing Director of the payments division at fintech Equiniti Group. He began his career as a commodities broker at Tradition.
Nick holds a BSc in Politics (1st class honours) from the University of Bristol, and both an Executive MBA (Distinction) and Postgraduate Diploma in Artificial Intelligence (Distinction) from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
