Carl Hewitt is a Partner at Davies and a recognised expert in organisational behaviour, decision-making and organisational performance. With nearly 30 years of experience in financial services, including more than two decades in senior leadership, transformation and programme management roles, he has worked at Citigroup, Royal Bank of Scotland, UBS and Davies, leading large-scale initiatives across banking, technology, risk and organisational change.

Throughout his career, Carl has led some of the industry's most complex transformation programmes, including the RBS/ABN Amro integration for Finance, large-scale global offshoring and operating model redesign, risk governance transformation, regulatory change and technology modernisation. His experience spans organisational design, decision-making frameworks, risk culture, governance and performance improvement across global financial institutions.

At Davies, Carl leads the expert people development capability and has developed a number of market-leading propositions focused on Experts in organisations such as software engineers and their ability to lead, shape culture and build high performance teams. He is the creator of a Generative Culture Assessment used by our clients to assess culture typology and has led research into engineering culture, organisational effectiveness and the behavioural factors that influence performance, wellbeing and innovation.

Carl's particular area of expertise is human judgement and decision-making in complex environments. Drawing on behavioural science, organisational psychology and practical executive experience, he helps leaders and organisations improve decision quality, navigate uncertainty and build cultures that balance performance, risk and accountability. His current work explores how advances in Agentic AI are reshaping human judgement and the capabilities organisations will need to thrive in an AI-enabled future.
