David Blunt is a board level culture and governance specialist advising financial services firms on a range of regulatory matters including the Consumer Duty. Before becoming a consultant last year, David had spent 23 years at the FCA/FSA, most recently as Head of Conduct Specialists in Supervision where he was the FCA's face of culture and conduct in a wide range of public engagements across the financial services industry. David was the accountable executive for the FCA’s priority of culture transformation in financial services firms, and led the FCA's work extending the senior managers and certification regime to all authorised firms.
David's previous roles at the FCA/FSA included heading the investment banks department in Supervision Division and a variety of roles in the Markets and Enforcement divisions. Prior to joining the FSA, David worked at the London Stock Exchange in its Listing Division. David trained as a solicitor and worked at Lovells (now Hogan Lovells) from 1992-1997 where he specialised in commercial litigation involving banks and other financial services firms.
