James is director of asset management regulation at the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA), where, among other issues, he is responsible for advocacy on remuneration issues in the UK, European Union and other relevant jurisdictions. Prior to joining AIMA, James worked at the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority for 16 years, primarily in policy roles, during which time he was seconded to the European Commission’s DG FISMA for three years. He also represented the FCA at IOSCO’s investment management committee.
