Chris has been a civil servant in the UK for more than 30 years and is now the Deputy Director of the Office for Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI) at HM Treasury. He spent the first phase of his career working on environment and transport policy before embarking on national security roles covering security science, resilience and cyber security. The opportunity to look at national security from a fresh perspective attracted him to the Treasury and to OFSI, where he has been since 2019.
