PATRICK RAPPO Senior Managing Counsel, Financial Crime – Legal, covering AML, Sanctions and ABC, at BNY, London. Patrick was formerly a Partner at Reed Smith LLP in the Global Regulatory Enforcement group. Prior to that he was Partner and MLRO at other international law firms. Patrick focussed on assisting multi-national companies with anti-corruption, fraud, sanctions, and AML issues: Including preventative advice, internal investigations, responding to government investigations and dealing with subsequent litigation. Patrick was counsel in the SFO v Barclays case, as well as FCA v Nat West. Prior to that Patrick was Joint Head of the Bribery & Corruption divisions at the UK Serious Fraud Office (SFO), introducing deferred prosecution agreements (DPAs) in the UK, and assisting with the SFO’s revised self-reporting policies. By training Patrick is a criminal law specialist Barrister, an Advocacy Trainer for the Inns of Court, and a Bencher of the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn.
