Martin is a financial services regulatory specialist. He has particular expertise in the use of new technologies in financial services including in relation to payments, digital assets and the use of AI.

Martin advises a wide range of clients on UK and EU financial services regulation. His clients include banks, asset managers, payment service providers, the operators of financial market infrastructure, and fintech firms. He regularly advises on the structuring of new products and services and the innovative use of new technologies including DLT and AI. Martin has advised on the establishment of a blockchain-based payment system, a marketplace for digital assets and the tokenisation of real world assets.

Martin is the co-author of the chapter on payments and blockchain/cryptoassets in Payment Services: Law and Practice, Second Edition, published in July 2025, and chaired the Financial Markets Law Committee's response to the FCA's consultation paper on stablecoin issuance and crypto custody.
