Barnabas (Barney) Reynolds is a partner in Sullivan & Cromwell’s Financial Services Group. He is a leading financial institutions practitioner, advising financial institutions, boards, and senior executives on risk management, regulatory changes, and compliance. He frequently engages with policymakers and regulators on complex domestic and cross-border financial services matters. He helped numerous financial institutions during the 2008 financial crisis, the Eurozone crisis of 2009-2012, and the Credit Suisse and Silicon Valley Bank situations. He has played a significant role in the development of financial regulatory regimes, including advising on the establishment of the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM). He also advised the UK government and market participants on legal and regulatory issues arising from the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union.

He was educated at Downing College (Law), and Queens’ College (LLM), Cambridge.
