Allan has worked at Société Générale for more that twelve years, and in the energy sector for more than 30 years, initially as an engineer and then in finance. He has extensive experience of advising on, and financing, energy projects in Europe, the US and Asia.

Allan heads up an international team of project finance specialists with a broad range of backgrounds and experience and plays a leading role in defining the strategy of the bank in the energy sector. In addition, he has been active in development of energy policy, particularly in the area of energy transition as a member of the UK government Carbon Capture, Use & Storage Council and the Hydrogen Expert Group.

Allan is a mentor and voluntary tutor on the Young Women into Finance scholarship scheme, which is a not-for-profit scheme established in 2018 to try to encourage more young women to consider finance as a career path and provide them with training and experience to help them on this path.

Allan has a BSc (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering, an MBA, is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a Chartered Engineer.
