Speaker Bio
After starting my City career back in 1999, I founded Divento Financials Ltd. where I hired, trained and managed dozens of independent derivatives traders. As well as facilitating a team of successful prop traders, Divento also ran a successful Market Making operation where we acted as direct liquid providers (DLP’s) for several new and emerging exchanges - namely NLX (Nasdaq) and Curve Global (LSE).
Following the success of Divento Financials Ltd. I founded the Divento Academy, a member of both the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers (ROATP) and also ROTO. Divento Academy still writes and delivers industry recognized qualifications for the Financials Services sector. Divento was also a member of the prestigious Trailblazer Group that was responsible for creating the Level 6 & Level 7 Financial Services Professional Standard. I have always had a passion for business and finance, and also believe strongly in ‘giving something back’, particularly when it comes to education within the FS sector. With this in mind, I currently volunteer my time and experience to fulfil the following roles;
2022 – present.
A member of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) CryptoSprint Advisory Group: Following the Chancellor of the Exchequer’s keynote address in April 2022, the FCA invited a select group of industry practitioners to assist and advise the Treasury in its endeavours to fulfil their pledge of helping the UK to become a “global crypto-asset hub”.
2020 - present.
Advisory Board member of the Government commissioned Socio-Economic Taskforce: HM Treasury and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, have commissioned the City of London Corporation to lead an independent taskforce to boost socio-economic diversity in UK financial and professional services, at senior levels.
2018 - present.
A member of the Board of Trustees for the CISI Educational Trust: The purpose and aim of the Trust is to focus on developing transferable skills in students at schools, colleges and further education parts of the financial services sector, as well as working with young adults at apprenticeship and university levels.
2017
TheCityUK Financial Services Skills Taskforce: Divento assisted with, and featured in, the Taskforce’s Final Report (chaired by former City Minister Mark Hoban). As a private sector membership body and industry advocacy group, we were tasked with promoting the FS industry not just within the City of London, but across the United Kingdom
