Michelle is an experienced CEO and global leader with broad international, cross-functional expertise gained in large and complex financial services firms. She has led transformational change in challenging business and macro environments, placing emphasis on developing people, organisational culture and diversity.

Michelle served as Chief Executive Officer of Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) from July 2019 to December 2024. Before joining LGIM, Michelle was Chief Executive Officer, EMEA, at Columbia Threadneedle Investments and a member of the Executive Leadership Team of Ameriprise Financial. Prior to that, she was Chief Risk Officer at M&G Investments and a Director of M&G Group Limited, whom she joined in 2012 from BlackRock.

Michelle held a number of senior leadership positions at BlackRock, and previously at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers and Mercury Asset Management, including COO, International Fixed Income; Global Head of Fixed Income Product and Head of Alternative Investments.

Michelle was Deputy Chair of the Investment Association, Chair of the Asset Management Taskforce Technology Working Group and a member of the FCA’s Practitioner Panel. She Co-Chaired the COP26 Business Leaders Group, was a founder member of the GFANZ Principals Group and a Member of the UK Treasury Transition Plan Taskforce,

Michelle holds a BA (Hons) in French from the University of Sheffield.
