Summary
With EVs taking a record 19.6% share of car sales in the UK last year - in the process, making the UK the largest market in Europe for electric car sales - the pressure is on to accelerate the delivery of a nationwide charging point network to meet current and anticipated demand. However, while some progress is being made with approving planning applications and obtaining connections to the grid, most charge point operators complain about the difficulties they face in extending the network. A number of critical issues need to be addressed if the government's EV ambitions are to be realised.
As part of its well-established portfolio of high-level infrastructure events, which have always enjoyed government support, City & Financial Global is delighted to announce the next edition of the Annual EV Infrastructure Summit, which will be held in central London on 2 June 2025. The summit will provide a timely forum for discussion of the critical issues facing the industry.
