The report that HM Treasury’s Wholesale Digital Markets Champion recently published sets out a comprehensive blueprint for implementing the UK Government’s Wholesale Financial Markets Digital Strategy. It covers everything from the tokenisation of existing assets and developing digitally native asset classes to fully digitising the UK’s shareholding system to completing the move to T+1 settlement and to harnessing the power of AI/Smart Data. It reflects an understanding that we are moving to a new paradigm of how financial assets are issued, traded, cleared, and settled.

Organised in partnership with the Dematerialisation Market Action Taskforce, the Accelerated Settlement (T+1) Taskforce Technical Group and, subject to final confirmation, the Wholesale Digital Markets Taskforce, this highly topical summit will examine the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead for financial firms active in the wholesale markets and the steps that firms should be taking now in preparation for the transition to a fully digitalised market model.
