Peter Morton joined Rolls-Royce SMR in June 2022 in the role of Chief Finance Officer (CFO) for the organisation pioneering a new approach to delivering clean, affordable nuclear power through a fleet of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) – each capable of generating enough low-carbon electricity to power a million homes for at least 60 years.

Peter came to Rolls-Royce SMR from Lockheed Martin, where he was the CFO for The Atomic Weapons Establishment – the organisation responsible for the management and operation of elements of the UK’s Nuclear Deterrent capabilities, on behalf of the UK Government.

Peter has held other Executive roles across a series of diverse and high-profile organisations in the public and private sector, including Merseyrail and Serco Assurance (a technical consulting business), and brings a proven track record of initiating and delivering strategic business change along with a strong financial and commercial capability. Peter’s proven leadership approach is based on driving results through creating high performing teams.
