Chris joined Handelsbanken in 2006 to open a branch for the Bank in Teesside. After three years, he became an Area Manager before then taking the role as UK Chief Financial Officer. In 2016, Chris was appointed Regional Head for the South West. In 2021, Chris was appointed to the new role of UK Chief Branch Officer, with responsibility for the Bank’s Branch network and the development and growth of the business. In 2025, Chris was also appointed non-executive director of Handelsbanken Wealth and Asset Management. Prior to Handelsbanken, Chris started his working life in football. After that, he moved into banking and later spent some time as Operations Director for an AIM-listed public company specialising in direct sales. Chris is married with three children and likes to keep fit through his love of running.
