Peter spent his career in the asset management industry, laterly serving as Group Chief Executive of Schroders plc for nine years. During this period he served as Chair of The Investment Association and sat on the FCA Markets Practitioner Panel.

Peter is currently Chair of Morgan Sindall plc, a FTSE 250 business, as well as being a Member of the Board of Directors of Lazard Inc and Marsh Inc in the US. He is Chair of Business in the Community, a member of the Capital Markets Industry Taskforce and of the Economy Honours Committee.
