George Beattie, Head of Innovation, CFC

George is head of innovation at CFC - an award-winning specialty insurance company headquartered in London, UK. His role involves creating, launching and trading brand new insurance solutions - concentrating on ‘breakthrough’ innovation across a range of topics including climate, intangible assets and emerging technology. As such, George is responsible for CFC's growing carbon insurance portfolio. George holds Chartered fellowship accreditation from the Chartered Insurance Institute (FCII) and the Chartered Management Institute (FCMI).

Mark Kenber, Executive Director, VCMI

Mark Kenber is Executive Director of VCMI and has worked for nearly three decades on market-based instruments for environmental protection, with a particular focus on carbon markets. His previous roles include positions at Fundación Natura in Ecuador, WWF’s International Climate Change Program, The Climate Group, Mongoose Energy Ltd, and Climate Advisers. He has also served as Climate Change Advisor to the Ecuadorian Government. Mark is a board member of ICVCM, C:C Brighton and Brighton and Hove Energy Services Cooperative.

Simon Puleston Jones, Founder and MD, Emral Carbon

As a broker, lawyer and serial entrepreneur, Simon is active across carbon markets through his brokerage business Emral Carbon, his consultancy to Philip Lee LLP (Environmental Finance’s Best Law Firm in the VCM 2023 and 2024) and as founder of the global jobs board for carbon markets, Jobs in Carbon. Among other roles during his 25-year career to-date, he was previously a structured finance and derivatives lawyer at law firm Simmons & Simmons and at Barclays investment bank, CEO of one of Europe’s leading financial services trade associations, Chair of the Joint Trade Association Group and founder of the social media platform for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
